First of all – and I’m sorry, but it’s true – electronic devices are a no-no-don’t go there. If you can’t fall asleep at night, but instead check your phone every 15 minutes, that could be the reason. So, get rid of them, and instead go take a warm shower – it will relax you and help you want to get in bed. It’s a good idea to develop sleep habits and go to the bedroom at more or less the same time. Speaking of habits, people who exercise regularly sleep better – even getting a 15 minute walk (every day!) will help your body get tired at more appropriate times.
And if you’re wondering not how, but how long, here is the answer – the amount of sleep you really need is 7.5-9 hours if you’re over 18, and 8.5-10 if you’re anywhere between 12 and 18.
