Simon had a problem with his memory. He didn't have it; or at least not all of it. He knew he had short term memory, that can not contain information for more than a day, because it was long ago, when he understood it.
In the morning, waking up, Simone found a note from his yesterday's I with instructions where to find coffee and breakfast (in the fridge). He was also telling himself how to get paid (where to go go and whom to look for) for a one day job for delivering newspapers. So he made some cash.
Afterwards he found himself with nothing to do, so he took a walk. He had some money and no idea what is expensive and what - cheap these days, so he had a lunch in a nice looking small restaurant with tables on the pavement.
Then he continued walking, while got to a park. Here he stopped with the intention to watch for a while the kinds skating. Obviously he had spend more than the normal amount of time doing it, because one of the boys came to him and suggested he'd like try and skate. He very much did and after several attempts he did it to the ground's other end.
He liked it so much, that he made a deal with one of the boys for all the money that had left him, to land him his board until the evening. When he started practicing the adrenaline was rushing in his body, his blood was dancing and his muscled were singing, The thought in how much pain he would be tomorrow and how he'd have no idea why, made him laugh aloud.
The most exciting moment was when he made his first full jump. He was so surprised he made it that fell down immediately and spent two or three minutes on the ground. Then made about a hundred jumps by the evening.
When the boy came back for the board Simon was exhausted, happy and very grateful for the sandwich he brought for him ("Dude, I know how hungry you must be after all day on the board").
Simon was sitting down on a bench, eating the sandwich the boy brought him when he noticed a jewelry of some kind hanging from his neck. He looked at it and found out it was an address. He followed it and it turned out to be the apartment where he woke up in the morning. He took a shower and went to bed early, with aching body, but not before leaving a note for himself for the same job tomorrow. It was a great day!
