She always rides on the back of the bus. Usually wears a hat, not always though. What always does is reading. There isn't one time I saw here that she didn't have a book in her hands. Some of her books are pretty massive, some are smaller, it doesn't matter.
I was always trying to see the title of the book, and when I did it, I googled it right away. Usually she was reading fiction, but sometimes there were pieces on human psychology and relations. In time I got interested, so i started bying e-copies of many of them. They were all quick, smart and intriguing, Soon I became a shadow of hers - I was reading on the back of the bus, staring at my e-reader, usually one book behind her. I never got disappointed in her choice, it was always perfect.
One day when I was getting on the bus she glanced at me for the first time. I think that this may have been the first acknowledge of any of the other passengers at all. I immediately smiled widely, foolishly. Just couldn't help it. She stared at me for a second or two, maybe wondering why some stranger was smiling at her, and returned to her book.
Then things came back to normal and she again stopped being interested in me. I continued to spy on her book choices and to read them quietly.
One day maybe a month later something incredible happened. I sat some seats in front of her and took out my e-reader, eager to continue the new detective story I was reading. But as I was turning the device on, I felt someone standing near me and looked up "Hello, she said, I am Murial. I am glad to see another person finally on this bus. What are you reading?"
