We live in a world that makes you appreciate the small things. Like today I was walking down the center of the city and turned on this small street that, for me, has always been like an oasis in the concrete - it has all these small shops and workshops, coffee houses, an old-fashioned cinema, some restaurants.
Every time I walk there I forget where I am. I forget my problems, I forget the traffic, the dirt, I forget the world. It is a place full of spirit. A place of stillness. I think it probably looked the same 50 or more years ago. It is a place where you appreciate the small things - the small talks, the small people (meaning ordinary and not wanting to be top of everything), the small backyards, the small cinemas, the small flowers.
You see, sometimes we need to be reminded that yes, it is great to be number one, to be the biggest, the riches, the most beautiful, but sometimes a person needs to be small and just notice the other small things. The world is big and complex. But no one would ever notice this if not looking at the details. Like a mosaic - would it be so amazing if it wasn't made from million pieces? I think that the only way to do it is to stand still for a while and look, and listen, and taste.
We have forgotten to see he ordinary life-shaping stuff and this changes our point of view, our world (because what more is reality that a point of view? Isn't it something personal?). If you are trying to see the whole beach you'll never notice that every single piece of it is a piece from the see. If you are trying to look at the whole mountain at once, you'll never understand how wonderful a walk in it can be.
in nature everything is unique and the same. For example:
The fact that many things remind us of other things is no coincidence. But being self-centered stops us from seeing it.
Look around you! What do you see?
