Technology, Education and Design are not the places you would usually go to when feeling down or just uninspired.
Not unless you’re thinking about TED – and that’s exactly what those three letters in the name of the popular lectures mean. This website has a few amazing playlists – and one of my favorites to play when lying in bed after a tough day is the Happy playlist. It's not a place where anyone would tell you to just try and lighten up! and be more positive!, which sometimes can be more annoying than helpful. What it actually does is, it gives you the perspective of different people on this fleeting emotion we’re all hoping to catch more often, just a little bit more often, if possible. You will hear everything from bestselling authors to a Buddhist monk and everyone in between.
Psychologist and researchers are giving out practical advice on what to do to be happier - or try to change your mindset and make you ask yourself questions like, In order to be happy, do I really NEED that that thing I WANT? One of my favorite out of the list is also the shortest one. Dr. Laura Trice, in just under three minutes, is talking about how important it is to be thankful - and how that can change you. The words thank you - and actually feeling that way - can, and will, make you happier, she believes.
Watch it - it gives food for thought.
