It was a wet sunny afternoon. It had been raining all day long, but in the end, as a promise for a better tomorrow, at sunset the clouds had broken apart.
Me and Lorry took a walk just to seal this moment of peace and hope.
My feet were splashing through the wet grass, covering slowly, but steady, with mud and water. On the other hand Lorry was the happiest dog there is, running around all wet with her tongue out. The air was clean and fresh, smelling like autumn leaves. The sun was going down in the most αmazing shades of red and orange; the ones that can only exist at this time of the year.
And just then, when the last rays were touching the horizon, a magnificent silhouette emerged from the trees' line. The deer had come to great the sundown, just as we had.
I froze on the spot, hoping that the regal creature would not get scared by my presence. Lorry also stopped, a bit confused what should she do - chase him or run.
A few seconds later the deer turned his head in our direction and then hid in the trees. We also walked back home muddy and very happy, each for her own reason.
