As he approached the village he saw smoke coming out of the fireplaces. He felt home. He knew he had some more walking to do, but the thought how close he is, gave him straight. And he needed it.
The few weeks he spent in the city were awful. Just the thought of the dirty streets, the strange and many people, and the ugly building made him a little sick. He hurried to banish the memory out of his head.
He looked around and saw what made his ancestors to come here long ago. As far as the eye could see the savanna was spreading out in all directions. Nearby were scattered boababs, microuniverses inside the endless horizon. The sky was meeting the grass in the holy unity that gave the beginning of everything, as if the whole world had began here. It was a sacred land.
Finally, he reached the village. While he was passing the first huts, made of mud and grass, and leaves, curious villagers were showing their heads to look at him. Some just glanced him, some stared and some came out and followed him. He started undressing, At every step he was trowing away a part of his clothing - first his jacket, then the tie, the shirt, the one shoe and then the other. As he got to the center of the village he was completely naked, as were many of the others villagers. When he stopped he kneed and bowed his head before Mother, who was waiting for him there.Hi was Home.
